It seems like almost every time I ask someone how things are going, I hear, “Life’s crazy!”, “I need a vacation!”, or “Is it Friday yet?” Unfortunately, in today’s world, many of us are stressed and burnt-out. We have a million obligations in our work and family lives, and the effects of the pandemic have not been kind to many.
While everyone experiences stressful periods throughout life, persistent stress is something worth addressing. Left ignored for too long, eventually stress can lead to chronic health issues like fatigue, weight gain or loss, pain, mood changes (e.g., anxiety or depression), sleep disturbance, and high blood pressure. Chronic stress can also negatively affect immune system function, making you more susceptible to getting sick, and preventing you from healing.

In addition to things like exercise, eating well, and finding positive activities that bring you joy, Reiki is a safe, non-invasive way to relieve stress!
Reiki is a powerful tool that encourages the flow of energy throughout the body. When the body and mind are balanced energetically, they function well, but when you’re stressed, energy can become stuck or sluggish (flows too slowly), or over-stimulated (flows too quickly). Like a plumber that unclogs pipes or fixes a leaking faucet, Reiki treatments remove energetic blocks and help the energy to flow naturally again.
Many people report feeling more relaxed, happier, less moody, and more peaceful after receiving Reiki. Some clients also feel an emotional release during the session (don’t worry, crying releases stress hormones and is helpful, natural, and normal). While you’ll likely notice positive effects after just one treatment, if you’re super stressed, you may need a couple visits to restore balance to the body, especially if your environment remains stressful. Many people find that fitting a monthly Reiki session into their schedule is enough to keep themselves feeling grounded for the month ahead. Think of it like recharging your batteries.
